Climate change is one of the most important issues we face, Unemployment, under employment and falling real wages are other problems faced by many.   This pamphlet explains how the government could create a million climate jobs which would lessen the dangers of climate change while reducing unemployment. It also shows that the government could easily afford to do this. The new, updated and expanded edition includes case studies of Salford and the Fylde coast: far more jobs could be created by tackling climate change – for example, jobs in renewable energy, public transport and building insulation- than by  fracking for gas (which would worsen climate change). It also includes a chapter on increased flooding in the UK and the role of the FBU.
The pamphlet was produced by the Campaign against Climate Change Trade Union Group in collaboration with several unions: Bakers, Food and Allied Workers Union, Communication Workers Union, Fire Brigades Union, National Union of Students, Public and Commercial Services Union, Transport Salaried Staffs Association, UNITE and the University and College Union.
This meeting is jointly hosted by the CaCC and Greater Manchester against Fracking (FFGM)
