University Staff = 13% pay cut
£1billion surplus in the Sector
UNISON, UCU and UNITE the Union are taking joint strike action on the 31st October throughout the UK and in the North West’s 13 Universities. Over 4.000 low paid staff are currently paid below the Living Wage. Over half of Vice Chancellors earn over £242.000. In the last 4 years, pay in real terms has fallen by almost 15% for most support staff in HE which has eroded living standards for thousands of our members. This year’s offer of 1% is inadequate and the time has come to take action for fair pay. UNISON, UCU and UNITE have agreed nationally to support the following online petition that can be signed by anyone in support of our campaign.
