NHS pension administrators strike for fair pay

Low-paid staff who administer NHS pensions have taken strike action for the first time.

Equiniti commentThe workers employed by multi-million pound company Equiniti in Fleetwood rejected a below inflation pay offer and voted overwhelmingly in favour of today’s action.

PCS members working for the company have suffered years of pay restraint. As a result their pay is about 25% less than their public sector colleagues. Some members are among the lowest paid staff in the country and do not earn a living wage: one that can pay their bills or feed their families.

Last year Equiniti made £81 million in profit and currently handles £400m of public contracts.
