NPS MEMBERS – CLAIM FOR TOIL PAY FOR CALL OUT DURING STANDBY
E55-2018
Colleagues
Some members have raised a problem over the failure of NPS to properly recompense staff who are called out during periods of standby. This is likely to predominantly affect members in managerial positions. It is reported that some members in this situation may have missed out on proper compensation for this duty since the creation of the NPS. If you know of members in this category it may be possible to make a claim for retrospective compensation if individuals have kept a record of claims for TOIL/payment for call out during standby.
(Sect A5 24 NNC . Staff in Pay Bands 4-6 who work in excess of the normal working hours will ordinarily be compensated by time off in lieu. Alternatively, where this is not possible within a reasonable period, and subject to prior management approval, payment may be authorised at plain time)
Please find attached a pro-forma claim form for any members who are experiencing difficulties in recompense for call out during periods of standby. Please forward to any members who might find this claim form of benefit. The claim form should be submitted to the member’s line manager.
