Journalist murdered in Cali

A Colombian journalist, Luis Eduardo Cardozo, was assassinated last Sunday in an attack which took place in his own home.

Mr Cardozo had over 40 years’ experience in the media. He was an award winning journalist, television presenter and director of Radio Toledar in the city of Cali. He was highly respected for being outspoken, quick to condemn injustice and call for a more equal society.

The 65 year old died from serious blows to the head which resulted in a fractured skull. The suspect, who was initially arrested by investigating police officers, has now been released.
